Auto Insurance

Protection for the vehicles you rely on every day

Your vehicle is an important part of your everyday life, whether you use it for commuting, errands, family trips, or simply getting where you need to go.

I work with clients to explore auto insurance options that provide appropriate protection for their vehicles, their finances, and the people they share the road with.

What can auto insurance cover?

Auto insurance can include a range of coverages depending on your vehicle, how you use it, and the level of protection you choose.

Liability Coverage

Liability insurance helps protect you financially when you are responsible for an accident that causes bodily injury or property damage to someone else. California requires drivers to maintain financial responsibility, and liability insurance is the most common way to meet that requirement.

Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist Coverage

If you are involved in an accident caused by a driver who has no insurance or insufficient insurance, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage can help protect you and your passengers from resulting bodily injury expenses.

Uninsured motorist property damage coverage may also help with damage to your vehicle when an identified uninsured driver is at fault.

Medical Payments Coverage

Medical payments coverage can help pay medical expenses for you or your passengers following an accident, regardless of who was at fault, subject to the policy's terms and limits.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive coverage can protect your vehicle against many types of damage that are not caused by a collision, including theft, vandalism, fire, falling objects, and certain weather-related losses.

Collision Coverage

Collision coverage can help pay to repair or replace your vehicle after a covered collision with another vehicle or object, subject to your deductible and the policy's terms.

Rental Reimbursement & Roadside Assistance

Additional coverage can help with expenses such as renting a vehicle while yours is being repaired after a covered loss or receiving towing and roadside assistance when you need it.

Choosing the right auto insurance coverage

There is no single combination of coverages that is appropriate for every driver. Your vehicle’s value, how you use it, your driving history, household drivers, financial circumstances, and whether you have a loan or lease can all affect your insurance needs.

I can help you understand the available coverage options and consider how different limits, deductibles, and protections may affect both your coverage and premium.

Auto insurance for different needs

Everyday personal auto

Whether you are insuring a vehicle you use for your daily commute, errands, family activities, or personal travel, I can help you explore coverage appropriate for your circumstances.

Drivers with special circumstances

Some drivers may have additional insurance needs because of their driving history, prior insurance situation, or other circumstances. Depending on the situation and available markets, I can help you explore potential options.

SR-22 Insurance Filings

An SR-22 is a certificate of financial responsibility that may be required by a state DMV in certain circumstances. Requirements can vary by state, and the California DMV identifies an SR-22 as one form of evidence that may be requested to establish financial responsibility.

If you are required to provide an SR-22 as proof of financial responsibility, I can help you explore eligible auto insurance options and arrange the required filing with the appropriate state DMV, subject to carrier availability and eligibility.

Reviewing Your Existing Auto Insurance

Already have auto insurance? I am also happy to review your existing coverage with you.

As your vehicle, household, driving habits, and financial circumstances change, your insurance needs can change as well. A coverage review can help you understand what you currently have and whether your limits, deductibles, and optional coverages continue to make sense for your circumstances.

What information will I need for a quote?

To explore your options, I may need information such as:

  • Your vehicle’s year, make, model, and VIN

  • How you use the vehicle and approximately how many miles you drive

  • The drivers in your household

  • Your driving and insurance history

  • Your current coverage, if you already have an auto policy

  • Whether the vehicle is financed or leased

  • Any special circumstances or insurance requirements that may apply

Providing accurate information helps ensure that quotes and coverage recommendations are based on your actual circumstances.

Can I use my personal vehicle for business purposes under my Personal Auto policy, or do I need separate Commercial Auto insurance?

Many personal auto policies permit certain incidental business use, while others may require a Business Use endorsement or another policy modification. First, let’s review your current personal auto coverage to determine whether your current coverage can be appropriately adapted. If Commercial Auto insurance is necessary, we can then discuss coverage options.
