Before You Drive to Mexico
You will need to have the following valid/unexpired documents:
U.S. Passport, Passport Card, or Green Card
U.S. Driver’s License (or International Driving Permit)
Proof of vehicle registration
Temporary Import Permit (TIP), if driving outside of the three Free Zones
Mexican auto/motorcycle insurance policy
