Business Owner’s Policy (BOP)

A Business Owner’s Policy, commonly called a BOP, combines several important types of business insurance into one package. For many small businesses, a BOP can provide a practical foundation of protection for the property they own, the premises they operate, and the liability risks they face every day.

I help small-business owners evaluate their risks, identify appropriate coverage, and find insurance solutions suited to their individual operations.

What does a BOP cover?

General Liability

A BOP can help protect your business when you’re legally responsible for bodily injury, property damage, or certain personal and advertising injuries involving third parties.

Business Personal Property

A BOP can also provide coverage for property your business owns or uses in its operations, subject to the policy’s terms and limits. This can include things such as:

  • Furniture and fixtures

  • Computers and office equipment

  • Machinery and equipment

  • Inventory and merchandise

  • Tools and other business property

Business Income & Extra Expense

A covered property loss can do more than damage equipment or inventory: It can temporarily prevent a business from operating normally.

Business income coverage can help address certain qualifying financial losses resulting from a covered interruption, while Extra Expense coverage can help with certain additional costs incurred to keep the business operating or resume operations more quickly.

What can I do?

I can help you review the value of your business property, projected revenues, and payroll, while also looking at the insurance requirements provided by landlords, property management companies, franchisors, and other parties. I can also help you provide Certificates of Insurance (DOIs) documenting your coverage when landlords, clients, venues, vendors, or other parties require them.

Together, we can develop coverage that appropriately protects your business's assets and operations while meeting the requirements of those with a financial or contractual interest in your business.

Let’s talk about your business

Whether you’re opening a new business, moving into a new location, or reviewing an existing insurance program, I can help you evaluate your coverage needs and explore available options.
